Victim

from Erasing Faces by Extar

about

This song is based around the weird rhythm track which was achieved by sending a drum machine through the vocoder on my Micro Korg. It's a trick I've used before but not for quite a while. The end result was a song noticeably slower than most of the other songs on the album, but it adds some contrast so I was happy to include it despite my earlier intention to avoid slow songs altogether.

lyrics

There's always a victim,
Someone to take the fall,
Someone who no one wants,
To line up against the wall.

I don't think you heard me,
I don't think you understand,
Wrap these chains round your neck,
It wasn't by my hand.

Do you know what you've become,
You can't feel, you are so numb,
It's a shame that you don't know,
Play along and take it slow.

I don't think you heard me,
I don't think you understand,
Wrap these chains round your neck,
It wasn't by my hand.

Can you hear what they say about you,
Can you hear what they say about you,
Can you hear what they say about you,
Do you even care?
