I attempted doing 'a song in a day' here and largely failed because the majority of the song took two days to complete with another half day of mixing and fiddling around with the vocals.
I've been listening a lot to Gary Numan and Berlin-era Bowie lately and wanted to try and get some of that fragmented storytelling into my song. I've recently discovered (via an Amazing Chrysta Bell concert) a cool band called Candy Says and along with Minute Taker (also discovered via Chrysta Bell) I listened to them for some inspiration although there's not really much to tell of it besides the clapping at the end and maybe the vocal harmonies.
lyrics
There's a chair by the window,
Television set is on the floor,
There's no light in the room,
What's outside I'm not sure,
Nothing's left, Nothing's left,
Nothing's left, nothing's left,
It all gets written down,
Nothing better to do.
Beside those people,
Not alone still isolated,
Try but cannot understand,
Alienated, alienated.
Listen to the radio,
It's gone nine twenty,
Check-in was late,
Now the room is empty,
Nothing's left, nothing's left,
Nothing's left, nothing's left,
And I'm soon to return,
Found out so much about you.
Also known as 'Other crap I'm partly responsible for': This is the 'proper' band I sing bass and play vocals for. We mostly play dirty rock covers. Extar
