This song is about my current feelings towards my job and explores similar themes to 'Straw Man', but is a lot less angry sounding. ('Straw Man' was more about me proving to myself that I can still write metal.)
This song started life as a bunch of drum loops on Fruity Loops. I've once again reconciled with the Loop of Fruits and am willing to use it for drums again. Well, more accurately, it's still on my old recording rig and set up for me to jam around on when I'm at my parents.
lyrics
There's a face that I can use,
A mask I wear from time to time,
The surface is all they see,
The fiction is all that's real.
Found an itch that you just can't scratch,
A feeling that you can't hide,
You're really all alone,
A dream that your trying to wake from,
Never meant to be this way,
Looking in on your life
from outside.
I had always told myself,
So many many lies,
But now the lines are drawn,
No longer compromise.
I won't be here for long,
I've already left behind,
Whatever hopes and dreams,
Whatever I could find.
There's a face that I can use,
A mask I use from time to time,
The surface is all they see,
The fiction is all that's real.
Also known as 'Other crap I'm partly responsible for': This is the 'proper' band I sing bass and play vocals for. We mostly play dirty rock covers. Extar
